JATE Introduction

JATE stands for Japan Approvals Institute for Telecommunications Equipment. It is the Japanese body responsible for certifying telecommunications equipment. According to JATE website,  JATE also promotes standardization and reliability of telecommunication systems.

JATE Costs

JATE certification fees are based based on type of approval,

• Design certification
• Compliance certification
• Model certification
• Single unite certification

There is also a cost for report translation that needs to be submitted to JATE.
