A variety of Arduino compatible GPRS shields are available in the marketplace that uses popular GPRS modules from providers such as SIMCOM, Telit, Quectel etc.<\/p>\n<p>\nGPRS devices uses AT commands as the primary way of communication with the outside world. AT commands are used to execute various modem features such as \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/data-call-at-commands-to-set-up-gprsedgeumtslte-data-call\/\">data call<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/voice-call-at-commands-to-set-up-voice-call\/\">voice call<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/at-command-for-http-functions-for-remote-server-data-access\/\">HTTP<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/network-registration\/\">network registration<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/sms-at-commands\/\">SMS<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/sim-phonebook-at-commands\/\">Phonebook<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/signal-quality\/\">signal quality<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/sim-at-commands-for-sim-presense-and-status\/\">SIM interface<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/at-commands-to-get-device-information\/\">device info<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/software-and-at-commands-for-m2m-modules\/\">AT Commands\u00a0<\/a>etc. <\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/module-tester\/\">AT Command Tester<\/a> is a free online tool that can used to test various GPRS features of Arduino-compatible GPRS shields. With AT Command Tester, developers can quickly learn and test GPRS features in an easy to use interface.<\/p>\n<p>\nIn this example, we\u2019ll use the Arduino\u2019s Quectel M10 GPRS shield that has been recently launched. The shield is connected to the Arduino Uno board which is then connected to the PC through the Arduino\u2019s USB interface as shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/wp-content\/themes\/admired\/images\/arduino_shield.JPG\" alt=\"Arduino shield\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n Before using the AT Command Tester with the shield, you need to establish a <a href=\"http:\/\/m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/using-at-command-tester-with-arduino-boards\/\">serial communication with the PC and Arduino shield.<\/a> Now you\u2019re ready to use the AT Command Tester. Select the port that the Arduino board is connected to the PC. Set the baud rate which should be same as the speed that is configured in the modem. Then connect to the modem on the AT Command Tester.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/wp-content\/themes\/admired\/images\/at_tester.png\" alt=\"At Command Tester\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nUsers can single AT command under \u2018Command Mode\u2019 tab or batch of AT commands under \u2018Script Mode\u2019 tab. Basic modem diagnostics information can be obtained under the \u2018Diagnostics\u2019 tab.
