It uses serial port of the device for communication.<\/p>\n<p>In order to check if you can successfuly communicate with the device over a serial connection, you can use a free tool call Putty.<\/p>\n<p>Download the Putty tool from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chiark.greenend.org.uk\/~sgtatham\/putty\/download.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Configure the Putty tool as shown below. Choose \u201cSerial\u201d for \u201cConnection type\u201d. Then choose your port and the modem speed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.m2msupport.net\/m2msupport\/wp-content\/themes\/admired\/images\/putty_setup.PNG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After you open with above setup, you should see a console window as shown below. Type \u2018AT\u2019 in the console window and press enter.
