GPRS commands generic?

    Hello ,
    Does the Gprs commands are standardized?. I meant a library written for simcom could be used for telit as well? I understand that some commands will be specific to the modem.Thanks.

    3GPP (organization that defines cellular standards) publishes spec for AT commands (3GPP TS 27.007).
    In general most of those commands are supported by all modem vendors. Those AT commands include common modem functions such as registration, call set up, SMS, device info etc.. However modem vendor typically add AT command support for some other stacks such as tcp/udp, http, ftp, smtp, gps etc which are not defined in 3GPP TS 27.007.So if you write a library that uses propreitery AT commands, it is not generally portable across module vendors.
