AT Command Tester is a desktop-based software to test and learn various features of GSM (2G/3G/4G) modem devices. All GSM technologies (GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA/LTE) are supported. The tool can be used with any GSM-based device such as modules, phones, tablets, 2G/3G routers, M2M devices etc..The tool uses AT commands for communication, which are supported by all GSM devices.
Step #1 – Opening AT Command Tester
Download and install AT command tester. Open the application from desktop shortcut or Start->AT Command Tester->Run AT Command Tester.Step #2 – Connecting the Device
AT Command Tester connects to the serial port of the device which is connected to the PC.
Once the software drivers for the device (provided by the device manufacturer) are properly installed on the system, device ports should be avaialble to connect. Please check instructions for how to find the device ports. If you are using Arduino-based shields, please check here for configuring the shield to work with AT Command Tester.
Once you identify the correct device port, choose the correct port speed on the AT Command Tester. The devices may be configured for specific serial port speed (such as 9600, 19200, 115200) or they may also be configured for autobaud which means devices can connect on any speed. If the device is configured for autobaud, AT Command Tester will connect to the device irrespective for the baud rate setting.
Once you select the device port and the correct baud rate (serial port speed), press ‘Connect’ on the AT Command Tester. The tool will send a query to the device. If teh query is successful, it will show the model, manufacturer and status under the ‘Connection’ section of the tool.
Here is the sample output of a successful device connection.
Successful Connection Output`
No port is connected.Sending AT query..
ATOK
Successful response for AT query..AT+CGMM
SIMCOM_SIM900
OK
Model Number : SIMCOM_SIM900
AT+CGMISIMCOM_Ltd
OK
Manufacturer : SIMCOM_Ltd`If you see junk characters returned when you press 'Connect', it is more likely that the baud rate (port speed) is not configured correctly. You'll see a response like below,
Unsuccessful Connection Output`
Sending AT query..

Invalid or no response from the device. Please check the modem port and the baud rate.Disconnecting port COM21.
`If AT Command Tester is not successfully connecting to the device, verify the serial connection using Putty.
Step #3 – Send logs
If you’re still having issues, press “Need Support?’ button on the application and send diagnostic info.- This topic was modified 7 years, 2 months ago by Admin.

Cíntia PinheiroInvalid or no response from the device. Please check the modem port and the baud rate.Disconnecting port COM5.
i’m using a BT hc-06 (Linvor) it’s conneting to COM5 and Baud Rate =9600
Why this is not working?
Are you able to communicate with the device through Putty or HyperTerminal?
To check communication with Putty,
Kyle SweetI can connect and disconnect repeatedly using Hyperterm and other terminal applications but M2MSupport.net’s AT Command Tester does not work. Perhaps I need more control beyond only selecting 115200.

tried download of SetupATCommandTester.exe now several times, but always get a virus information and avira puts it into quarantine immediately. It says: TR/Dropper.Gen” found. No chance to run since avira stops executing even when i say “ignore” if I try to get it out of quarantine.
also Java version is not running on win10. It always wants to install new java, but my version is the latest.
Please help.
Under win 8 I was successful running the jave version an was very satisfied with this Programm.

Sergio Toro EscofetHi, has any one try to modify an MR of a SMS before send it?. I like to assign an uuid string to an message as id instead of an random integer autogenerated by the modem. Thanks in advantage.
MichaelHi,
I want to use the AT Command Tester Tool to send some data via http/https. But I can´t see the folders HTTP, FTP, GPS, TCP/UDP, Email in the program. Is this because it´s unregistered or is it because this service is not supported by the operator? I tried some http and email connections by the command line but they all failed. The connection is fine and a IP address is set.
